Evelyn Crumbley (née Gonzalez) passed away January 30,2026 surrounded by her son and other immediate family. Evelyn was born September 29, 1961, in New York City. A resident of Virginia Beach for 35 years, Evelyn had a fulfilling profession as a member of the US Army where she served 7 years with tours of duty in Germany, Colorado and in New York. After the Army, she made Virginia Beach her home and spent her entire career working at local radio and television stations. Most of her professional life was in the sales department with WAVY-TV where she was a beloved colleague. Her strong work ethic and accomplishments at WAVY earned her a designation for the Circle of Excellence Program.

Evelyn will be remembered for her love of salsa dancing, her love for singing, and her generous, loving heart that she shared with her family and friends. She is predeceased by her father Pedro Gonzalez Sr. of Isabela Puerto Rico. Evelyn is survived by her son Marcus Bowers, her mother Martha Robles, her granddaughters Nevaeh Bowers and Jenesis Bowers; her siblings Pedro Gonzalez Jr., Adam Robles, Joline Robles, Ricardo Gonzalez, Ivan Gonzalez and Kristy Gonzalez.
