Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend Freddie Wallace Gregory died Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, Virginia.  He was born April 22, 1938, to the late Edward and Catherine Gregory in Virginia Beach, Virginia, then Princess Anne County.  Freddie was the oldest of eight children, five brothers and two sisters.   He is survived by his brothers, Bobby Gregory (Mary), Frankie Gregory, Phillp White (Brenna), his sister Catherine Muse (Kenny), Sister-in-law Alfrette Gregory and Brother-in-law Leroy Banks.  He was predeceased by his brothers Percell Gregory, Dansby Gregory, and his sister Eula Banks.

Freddie married the love of his life Bernette Williams Gregory in 1963 after many years of friendship, while attending Princess Anne Training school.  Together they raised three wonderful sons, Marcus Timothy Gregory Sr. (Veronica), Terry Antonio Gregory (Monica), and Brian Lamar Gregory.  Freddie dearly loved his grandchildren; Alexis Gregory, Ronnie Gregory (Rebecca), Briana Gregory, Marcus Timothy Gregory Jr., Kaden Gregory, four great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends that felt like family.

Anyone that knows Freddie would say that he was a great storyteller.  He loved history, life lessons and after dedicating his life and symbolizing that dedication through baptism in 1986, talking about his GOD, Jehovah He would speak with his deep baritone voice, with such energy and vigor.  He used this gift to share the knowledge he learned from the Bible with everyone he would meet.  One of the last conversations he had before his passing with his son Tim (Marcus), was about the resurrection hope.  Freddie was convinced that there would be a resurrection and he lived his life every day with the hope and expectation of living in paradise one day.
