Giancarlo Catanese was born in Naples, Italy.  He went home to be with the Lord on October 21st, 2018 at the Sentara Hospice House in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  He was survived by his wife Brenda Catanese, daughter Floriana Catanese, and stepson Edward O. Gonse Sr.

Giancarlo was very passionate about his Italian cooking, music, soccer and the arts.  He represented his hometown Naples, Italy very well in his daily life.

His career was at Aldo's Ristorante, an Italian Restaurant in Virginia Beach, Virginia for 29 years as executive chef.

His immediate family resides in Italy;  deceased his father Paolo Catanese, brother Enzo, and sister Loredana.

The surviving family; his mother Rosa Catanese-Baughman, step-father Richard Baughman, sister Cinzia, brothers ino, Claudio, Mario, and Rino.

Giancarlo's remains will be sent back home to Italy upon his request.
