Ida Mae Beatrice Gordon was born January 13th, 1935 in Daisytown, Pennsylvania where she was one of four children. She graduated from high school in 1952 and moved to New York City.
There she met and married Willie Robert Gordon in 1957. That union produced five children. All of which are surviving.
Theresa Hendricks, Robert Gordon, Sr., Edward Gordon, Candace Gordon and Anastasia Anderson. Also her beloved
son-in-law, Delvin Hendricks, Sr.
She was preceded in death by her mother Margaret Walker, her sister Wilma Howard, and her two brothers Jim Williams and Lawrence Walker.
She has 11 grandchildren: Barak, Maureen, Delvin, Jr, his wife Jessica, Bree, Robert Jr, Shelbee, Ashley, Nicholas, Noah, and Joshua.
She also has 5 great grandchildren: Jazmyn, Josiah, Delvin III, Viviyana and Natalie.
Sister Gordon was baptized 1969, and she served her God Jehovah faithfully to the very end. As part of her preaching goal she auxiliary pioneered on many occasions which led to many getting baptized.
Sister Gordon was a trained and certified Nursing Assistant. And she helped to care for several sisters in her congregation. Later she came to be the personal assistant to the deputy mayor of New York City for 20 years.
Ida Gordon was a loving capable wife of Willie Robert Gordon for 27 years. As a friend and a mother she was known for her generosity and hospitality as well as her quick wit and sense of humor. She was always willing to lend an ear to both listen and encourage her friends and family. Her favorite saying was "Just pray to Jehovah", using her favorite scripture; Philippians 4:6,7.
Having a green thumb she loved growing all types of plants. She loved cooking and playing cards. But most of all she loved Jehovah.
All that knew her knows that she'll be looking forward to seeing all of us in the new world.
