A Time to be born: On February 28, 1927, Janie, a twin, was born to Viola and James W. Durden in Panama City, Florida. A Time for Education: She was educated in Panama City Public School System. A Time to relocate: As a young adult, Janie and daughter Barbara moved to Brooklyn, New York where she resided until she retired from the Sweet and Low Factory. Several years she visited Virginia. After the death of her husband Joe, she moved to Virginia Beach to be with her daughter and family. A Time for Religious Faith: Janie's Christian experiences was with Berean Baptist Church in Brooklyn and after moving to Virginia, she joined New Light Full Gospel Baptist Church and became a diligent member of the Addie Hammond Widows and Senior Ministry. She loved coming to church and would wait patiently for "Mark" (Deacon Bagnall) to pick her up in the church van. A Time of Joy: Janie was a pleasant lady who always wore a beautiful smile with her fashionable hats. A Time of Bereavement: Love and missed are her parents, her beloved Aunt Thelma and Uncle James Murdock and in 1992 her twin brother, James "Son" Durden. A Time to Die: Monday, March 16, 2015, at 7:07 p.m. death's angels closed her tired eyes as she took wings to be with the Comforter. A Time to Cherish: She was proud to be blessed with her daughter, Barbara A. Jones (James III); two adorable grandchildren, Timothy Keith Jones and Nicole Wilson (Timothy); six great-grandchildren, Sean I Patterson, Alyssa, Timothy Bryce, Matthew Elliott, Quynn Alise Jones and Summer Tiniah Wilson: two sisters, Thelma Evans and Marie Baskins: several nieces and nephews, Conchita, Peditha, Aubry, Bernard, Mary, Carolyn, Sammy Jr., Dorothy and Jimmy; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
