Joann Smalley was born in Trenton, New Jersey on November 1, 1959 to the late Russell Thompson and Helen Ruth Garrett Smalley.

Joann was a loving, caring, faithful woman.  She dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized on January 10, 1988.  Joann graduated from Hempstead High School in 1978.  She was a Computer Operator for Designer Signature in NY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bruce Smalley, and sisters: Sharon Alston Pender and Virginia Martin.  Her surviving siblings are Francine Via, Diane Smalley, Corinne Smalley, Kim Boston, Traci Smalley, William Smalley Jr., Richard Smalley and Pattie McElveen, as well as her Aunt Cora Alston and Brother-in-laws Eric Boston and Roscoe Pender.  She leaves behind a host of family and friends.
