Obituary

Johnny Hydra Tran, was born on December 18, 1970, in Saigon, Vietnam. He was an only child. He grew up in Vietnam – during the war – and came to the United States in 1981 arriving in Virginia Beach at the age of 10.

As a young boy Johnny attended a Catholic school for one year before transferring to public elementary and junior high schools in the Kempsville area. He attended Kempsville High School and played on the school's basketball team. He was a good player and enjoyed the game to the full until he developed appendicitis.

Johnny left high school before graduating and worked in several restaurants as a cook. Johnny truly loved this type of work! He created a recipe of "crispy chicken wings" especially for his mother – which is still on the menu at the family's restaurant.

During the past several years He was a student of God's Word and enjoyed speaking with his family and friends about Jehovah and his creation. He was eagerly looking forward to making further progress and sharing in the ministry with family and friends.

He is survived by his mother Mian Evans of Virginia Beach, his daughter Jolie Tran Li and son Micah Tran Li, and GiGi Li, the mother of his children – all of Virginia Beach. Additionally, he leaves two uncles, two aunts and four immediate cousins – As well as good friends Alex Ha and Preston Jones.

He will be sorely missed by his family and friends!?
