Obituary

Kaelyn Nicole Caron, 18, of Virginia Beach, Va., passed away suddenly on April 28, 2026.

Kaelyn was born on April 22, 2008 in Charlottesville, Va., beloved daughter of David “Dave” and Elizabeth “Beth” Caron. Kaelyn maintained a 4.0 GPA while working two jobs. She loved animals and caring for her three leopard geckos, bearded dragon, and her little Shih Tzu Cookie. Kaelyn loved the color pink and any and all skin and hair care (except for ELF – stop testing on animals). Unique hair colors were nothing new for Kaelyn. KK had a heart of gold (and pink) and loved deeply. She loved spending time with her mom singing at the top of her lungs in the car, watching Sophia play softball, picking up new fidgets with Arielle, and going to UVA games with her dad.

Kaelyn is survived by her parents and two beloved younger sisters, Arielle and Sophia; grandmother, Rosemary Caron; aunts Michelle Caron (cousin Drucilla), Jessica Shaver (cousin Tucker), Tiffany and Alex Sellie (cousins Josiah, Liliana, and Madison), Michelle and Trev Thomas (cousins Theo, and Reagan); honorary aunts Sarah and Jared VanGelder (cousins Eliana, and Milena), Dee Carpenter (cousins Shelby and Rocklynn), and Kayla Wentz (cousins Londynn and Alayah); one honorable grandmother Nina Reauveau; very special cousins TJ and Audrey Shaver (Rhiannon, Morgan, and Hannah); and numerous extended family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her great-grandparents and grandparents, Eleanor “June” Morris (Granny), Theodore “Ted” Morris (Grampy), Patricia “Trish” Gibson (Nanny), David Gibson (Pawpaw), Henry Shaver (Bampaw) and Douglas Caron (Opa); honorary uncle Robert “Bobby” Reauveau.

Viewing will be held on May 9th, 2026 from 11am – 11:45am at PG Thomasson Funeral Home – 230 N Lynnhaven Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23452. Funeral will be directly after from 12pm – 1:30pm at The Crown Plaza 4453 Bonney Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.

My dearest Kaelyn you brought so much sunshine into our lives. Our world will never go dark with the light you left behind. Even with this tragedy, you heroically chose to save lives through organ donation. Always remember I’ll love you to the moon and back forever and ever. You were my world. Love Mom and Dad.
