Alexander Linwood Smith affectionately known
as "Sunny" went home to be with our Lord on •
September 20, 2019. He was born to the late
Mary Elizabeth and Linwood Alexander Smith on
July 16, 1943. Sunny worked for the City of
Virginia Beach Refuge Collection where he later
retired from over 28 years of service. He also
later retired from The Virginia Beach City Public
School System where he worked as a custodian.
He leaves to cherish his memory wife (Gloria
Gregory), Two Sisters (Louise Williams of Norfolk,
VA and Rosanna Etheridge of Virginia Beach,
VA), one brother (Norman Lee Smith and Wife,
Wilhelmina Smith of Virginia Beach, VA), four
daughters, (April Baker, Dorothy Hines and
husband John Hines, Sarah Baker, and Diane
Weatherspoon. He also leaves four sons
(Alexander Dwane Morris, Aires Gregory,
Michael Gregory, and Jerry Baker, 19
grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and a host
of nieces, nephews, and close family friends.
