Lorraine Titus-Brown was born on June 30 th 1946 in Utica, New York to the parents of the late Charles Titus and Leola (Strack) Titus. She graduated high school from Utica Free Academy and received a degree in accounting at a local Business School. She held one job her entire career. She retired as Comptroller at Utica Community Action, a non-profit organization. She died on June 22 nd , 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Lorraine Brown was a woman of strong faith. She was baptized April 30 th , 1983, as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and served as a full-time pioneer with the Pembroke Congregation in Virginia Beach, VA. She had the privilege of attending pioneer school in 2004 and then again in 2013. Lorraine had a great love for the field ministry. All those who had the opportunity to work with her, expressed the positive influence she had on others. The foremost being her family. Through her resiliency and great example, she has taught her family to continue serving God and to fight to remain in his love. She remained a faithful and loyal servant of Jehovah until she fell asleep in death.
Lorraine Brown was also very athletic. During her high school years, she was a member of the Athletic Club and a cheerleader. Lorraine excelled in a variety of sports, including tennis, ping pong, and volleyball. After high school she became a member of the 500 Bowling league and was named the best female bowler in the upstate New York area.
Shortly after high school, Lorraine married Leslie C. Brown on October 6 th ,1965 and they were married for 46 years. They had a loving relationship and remained best friends until his passing on September 18 th , 2011. In addition to her parents and husband, Lorraine was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 7 sisters. She is survived by her youngest sister, Charlene Brown, and two sisters in law, one who aided her in the truth, Annabelle Dorsey.
She also leaves behind her immediate family, whom she loved dearly. Her son Christopher Brown (wife Rebecca), her daughter Daphne McClain (husband Cory) and her daughter Machelle Brown. Six grandchildren: Michael McClain (wife Akyia) Adrean McClain (wife Michell) Onya Dixon (husband Gilberto) Sean McClain, Shaye Brown and Sabrina Brown. Ten great grandchildren. Jaynon, Varea, Jaraae, Adrean, Va'anah, Mia, Skylar, Romeo, Jai and Nia. She will be missed by a host of nephews and nieces which includes four who consider her as their second mom, Jackie, Michael, Christian and Maurice. She was a special person and was affectionally called "Ma Brown" by so many. Yes, Lorraine Brown will truly be missed by all!
