Marion P.
Daniely
May 30, 1944 – June 21, 2024
Marion Percel Daniely was born on May 30, 1944, in Orangeburg, SC to the late Hubert and Hattie Mae Daniely. He was one of five sons: Hubert Daniely Jr, the late Wilbert L Daniely, James G Daniely, and Kenneth A. Cartlidge. He came to learn about Jehovah when he was just a teenager, dedicated his life to Him at the age of 16 and was baptized on August 14, 1960. Marion devoted his life in full time service to Jehovah. Along with his family, he started and served in many congregations in South Carolina, from Orangeburg to Manning, then Charleston and onto St. Matthews, aiding numerous ones in learning and accepting Bible truths.
In 1990, the family moved to Virginia Beach, VA. Here he was able to serve as a full-time minister and pioneer, and also used his organizational skills as a city overseer and assembly hall overseer for the circuit; and used his building skills on the Regional Building Committee (RBC) and Local Design Committee (LDC). He also served as a member of the Norfolk Hospital Liaison Committee (HLC), visiting, and encouraging sick ones and their families, regardless of the hour.
His fondest privilege was serving as a substitute Circuit Overseer. This took him to congregations all over Hampton Roads, the Eastern Shore, MD, SC, and NC. Marion passed away in the early hours of the morning with his loving wife Valerie by his side. Papa D was dearly loved by his wife Valerie, as well as daughters Rochelle, Arlene (Johnny), and LaLonda, Marquita (deceased) and son Jonathan, his grandchildren Tory, Tabitha, Dontae, Donovan, Dekalon, Malachi and Noland. His great-grandchildren, Bryce, Jaylen, Cali, Chanaiyah, Chastity, Charity, Chontae, Navaeh, Naomi, Meka, Donovan Jr, and Kimberley. In addition to his brothers, he is survived by in-laws Toya Cartlidge, Ursula (Robert), Edwin (Gail), Ivye (Linda), Eilane, Renee (Clayton) along with a host of nieces, nephews, and a ton of adopted spiritual children, friends, and his posse (you know who you are). Percel, Pop, Papa D, Dad, Brother D will be dearly missed by all. To know him is to love him, as a humble, hard-working, and spiritual man, who LIVED with no regrets!
