Obituary
Marvette was the eldest daughter reared in Ahoskie North Carolina, born to Johnnie and Velma Moore on July 23, 1952. Marvette transitioned on October 29, 2021 to be with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Marvette was educated in the Ahoskie school system graduating from C.S. Brown High School. Marvette later moved to Norfolk Virginia to be the care giver for a aunt. While in Norfolk Marvette began her career with Norfolk Public Schools that would span 40 years . During her time with Norfolk Public Schools she worked in the capacity of Teacher Assistant, Parent Liaison, Attendance monitor, community outreach organizer, Angel tree coordinator for Norview elementary School of which she took pride in every Holiday. Season. Above all things she was a Licensed missionary under the leadership of the late Mable Heart Christ Extended Hand outreach Ministry.
While in Norfolk she met her soulmate James W Syms who were married 45 years of this union were born children Diane and Jacquline.
She leaves to cherish fond memories her husband James W. Symes of the home. Diane Elizabeth Syms and Jacqueline Evon Syms of Norfolk Virginia. Two Grandchildren
De'Shawna , Martin and De'Aizja Martin of Norfolk. Three sisters: Sarah Moore (Ann), Velma Moore Whittaker, Sandra Moore (Net). Five brothers: Johnnie Moore (Ida), Clifton Moore (Gladys), Reginald Moore (Lorriane), Fredrick Moore (Diane), Richard Moore (Linda). Two adopted brothers: Horace Sessoms (Gail), Horace Moore. One sister-in-law Deborah Bembury (Alvin). Honored Sister Beverly T. Carter.
