May Joyce Washington Brown of the 500 block of Jonathan Court, Virginia Beach, VA, went home to be with the Lord on June 10, 2016.

She was born December 20, 1954 to Edna Mae Carter & Nathan Carter in St. Louis, Missouri. She grew up there and was also educated in St. Louis.

Joyce worked in the nursing field and before that as a security guard. She loved to cook, especially barbeque, and cook on the grill.

She is survived by two sons, Cohran Carter of Virginia Beach, Jermaine Wilson of Melbourne, FL, one sister, Mary D. Taylor of Charlotte, NC, one brother, Lamar Smith of Virginia Beach, VA. Also five grandchildren, Jahka'i Wilson-Frieson of Chesapeake, VA, Janae & Jayshawn Boston of Palm Bay, FL, Janiyah Wilson & Avion Wilson of Florida. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
