Life Story
Mekhi D. Harvey
August 13, 2008 – July 24, 2026
"A beautiful life is never measured by the number of years lived, but by the love shared, the lives touched, and the memories created."
Mekhi D. Harvey was born on August 13, 2008, in Portsmouth, Virginia, to his loving parents, Mack D. Harvey and Kim R. Harvey. On July 24, 2026, at just 17 years old, Mekhi’s journey came to an unexpected end, leaving behind a family, friends, and community forever changed by the love, laughter, and unforgettable presence he shared with others.
A rising senior in the Virginia Beach City Public Schools, Mekhi looked forward to the future with excitement and confidence. He approached life with a caring heart, a bold personality, and a confidence that made him stand out. While his dreams were still unfolding, the impact he made during his seventeen years will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched.
Mekhi was truly one of a kind. He had a personality that could not be duplicated and a presence that could never be ignored. He had a way of keeping everyone on their toes, making people laugh, and creating memories that will be talked about for years to come. His smile was contagious, his laugh unforgettable, and he had the unique ability to light up any room he walked into. Whether he was gaming, traveling, spending time with family, or simply enjoying time with friends, Mekhi brought energy, laughter, and joy wherever he went.
Family meant everything to Mekhi. The moments shared around the dinner table, on family trips, during holidays, and through everyday conversations are now priceless memories that will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him. His genuine spirit, humor, and love created connections that will never be forgotten.
Mekhi leaves to cherish his memory his devoted parents, Mack D. Harvey and Kim R. Harvey; his beloved siblings: Meechel Dessenberg, Matthew Love, Marissa Dessenberg, and Maleek (Anya) Harvey; his cherished grandparents Gregory and Deadra Jenkins, and Moira Dessenberg; his loving extended family, The Stokes Family; his supportive godparents, Kristeena and Lorenzo Miller, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who were blessed to know and love him.
Though his time with us was far too short, Mekhi’s life was filled with love, laughter, and meaningful connections. He left an imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know him, and his memory will continue to remind us to love deeply, laugh often, and cherish every moment we share with the people who matter most.
Mekhi will always be loved, forever missed, and never forgotten. His light continues to shine in every heart he touched.
