We are so sad when those we love are called to live in the home above. But why should we grieve when they say goodbye.

And go to dwell in a cloudless sky for they have but gone to prepare their way and we'll join them again some happy day.

Prentice Alexander Gary affectionally know to everyone as "Peanut" entered this world on March 11, 1969 born to Maurice Gary and Jacqueline Ricks-Gary. Peanut answered Gods call on Tuesday December 8, 2015.

He attended Norfolk Public Schools and grew up in the Norview area. He graduated from Tidewater Tech in 2011 earning him a degree in welding.

Peanut was predeceased by his brother Maurice Alexander Gary, Jr. (maternal) Grandfather Ned Ricks, Sr. (maternal) Grandmother Mary Parker Ricks Williams (maternal) Aunt Marilyn Ricks Hollowman (maternal) Uncle Donald Milton Ricks and (paternal) Grandfather Irvin Gary, Jr.

To cherish his memories Peanut leaves his parents Maurice Gary, Sr. and Jackie Ricks-Gary, his sister Jennifer Gary-Anthony (nate) and his brother Brian Ricks. Three special little people he loved so much and had a close bond with his nephew Jar'I Ricks and his nieces E'mari "Shauni" Ricks and Jayauni Anthony. He leaves Uncles, Aunts and a host of cousins and close friends.

There is no time we could set for parting
We who must remain are never ready for such pain.
Even our prayer would be not yet, not yet Dear God.
Another day with us let our beloved stay.
We must believe when falls the blow that widely God has willed it so.
