RHODA RUIZ fell asleep in death on Sunday, September 20, 2015. She was born on November 28, 1930 in Corregidor Island, Philippines. At the age of 8, she was orphaned and left in the care of her older sisters. She missed the care of her parents which left her lonely and feeling worthless. Her family was Protestant before she became one of Jehovah's Witnesses at the age of 10. She loved the ministry and she served tirelessly as a pioneer in the Philippines and in the Tagalog and Princess Anne Congregations in the United States. She loved to travel to conventions and she was invited to attend the dedication of Bethel in the Philippines. She was also able to visit Brooklyn Bethel, Gilead and the annual meeting. She encouraged the young ones to pioneer and she was known by young and old as the "candy lady" in the congregation. She loved going in the ministry with her family and one of those family members was her aunt, who was one of the anointed. While her children were growing up she wanted all of them to serve Jehovah. She also preached to her husband while he was alive and before his death, he embraced the truth. He was concerned about her welfare because most of the children have their own families. But she told him, "Don't worry about me. I will be the first one you will see when you wake up." She is predeceased by her husband Federico Ruiz and her sisters, Elena A. Valenzuela, Esther A. Custodio, Florencia A. Joyellanos and her brother Eliseo Advincula. She is survived by her sister, Eleonor A. Boko and her children Fernando A Ruiz (wife Lourdes), Rhodora-Baby R. Alas (husband Alex), Rowena R. Flores (husband Edgardo), Fidel A. Ruiz, Froilan A. Ruiz (wife Honeybee) and grandchildren Alvin Francis R. Flores (wife Khris), Allan Francis R. Flores (wife Christine), Aljohn Francis Flores, Francoise G. Ruiz, Marklexter R. Alas, Andrea J. Ruiz, Bea J. Ruiz, Federico J.
