Robert Joseph Davis Sr., born November 11, 1938, the son of Bertha Meredith Paxson Davis, born and raised in South Norfolk, a lifetime resident of Virginia Beach went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday March 13 ^th .

He was the owner and President of Davis Masonry Inc. for 37 years, his self-started family business- teaching his three sons the trade and his daughter the office. Boss Hogg, as Robert was known, was also proud to see his grandsons learn the trade and begin their working careers in the family business.

His love for family and the Lord was abundant. He began taking his family to Calvary Baptist Church in Virginia Beach in 1965, and began serving as Deacon in 1977. His devotion to the church lasted throughout his life.

He was predeceased by his mother; his sister, Thelma Bruce; his grandson, Stephen Warren Davis Jr.; and his great grandchildren, Robert Simon Davis, Chase Logan Gleason, and Chance Landon Gleason.

Robert leaves behind his loving wife, Sandra his "wonderful woman", of 60 years and their four children; Margie Carol Dickson, Robert Joseph Davis Jr. (Dana), Gregory Scott Davis Sr. (Trish), Stephen Warren Davis Sr. (Linda). He also leaves behind a sister, Rose Marie Dawley, and a brother, Paxson Shannon Davis. He was best known as Grandpa to Patty Davis, Starr VanWingerden, Belle Dickson, Joy Dickson, Robert E. Dickson Jr. Brandon Davis Sr., Brooke Gleason, Gregory Scott Davis Jr., Jonathan Robert Davis, Rachel Slifer, Jacqueline Dugan, and Cody Luchau. He was Great Grandpa to 31 and counting great grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday March 17 ^th from 7-9 pm and a service will be held Saturday March 18 ^th at 12 pm both at Calvary Baptist Church, 4832 Haygood Rd. Virginia Beach, 23455. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park in Norfolk at 1000 E. Indian River Rd. 23523.
