If fidelity could be embodied in a man, Scott would be in the running. Whether it was to his wife of twenty three years, Suzie Haynes, or in his almost forty year career at the Huntington Ingalls Newport News Shipyard, Robert Scott Haynes, who passed away on September 27th, was the epitome of loyalty. Scott was born in Loudon, TN and was raised in Athens, TN, before moving to Virginia Beach as young man.
He leaves behind a family grateful for his kindnesses and support over the years: Rick and Janice Haynes, Melissa and Brad Andrews, Beth and Shiji Ulleri, Amy Clark, Jeff and Ashley Smith, Shannie Curtis, Larry Curtis and Mike Crites, Bonnie Via, Joe Thornton, Shannon Curtis, Rachel Winters, Becky Curtis, Keith and Lori Curtis, Ashley and Jason Dubious, Zach Curtis, and Alyson Curtis. And a host of other family and friends too numerous to mention. He was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Doris Haynes, father-in-law Don Curtis and dear friend Vicky Taylor.
Family requests donations be sent to Sentara Hospice House, 3706 Sentara Way, Virginia Beach, Va. 23452.
