Sandra Lee Hughes was born on October 16, 1949 in Virginia Beach, Virginia to Stan Lee Hughes and Nevada Smith.

She was educated in the City of Virginia Beach Public School Systems, where she later obtained employment for 35 plus years before retirement.

Sandra was a very kind, loving and considerate person. She did not mind leading a hand where ever needed. She was known to care for her younger relatives without a murmur of complaint. She had the deepest love for her only child, her son, her world. She will truly be missed.

She leaves to cherish her memories her son Blake Hughes of Virginia Beach, Va., mother Nevada Smith of Washington, DC, one brother Richard Smith (Christine) of Keswick, Va., one sister Susanna Smith of Washington, DC and her caregiver David Silvestri of Virginia Beach, Va., a niece and a nephew and many other cousins and friends.
